On Saturday, February 25th, 2023, His Eminence Sayedna Silouan, Metropolitan of the Antiochian Christian Orthodox Archdiocese of the British Isles and Ireland, consecrated the new Church building of St Fursey in Stalham, Norfolk.

Among those concelebrating were Archimandrite Philip Hall; Fr Samuel Carter; Fr Stephen Weston, the Parish Priest of St Fursey's; Fr Paulinus Heggs, who was made a Confessor during the service; Fr Mark Tattum-Smith (ROCOR); and Fr Deacon Nectarios Barton. The present also included Mother Melangell of Skete of the Mother of God of Unexpected Joy, Walsingham, and representing the the Anglican Bishop of Norwich, Canon Peter Doll.

In his homily, HE Sayedna Silouan talked about the importance of building Houses for God (Churches) in this world: "A chrismated Church is a House of God. This is crucial for our spiritual life. This is the place we come to unite with God in Holy Communion; the place where we can certainly acquire salvation." He continued: "Let us come prepared to receive Him... Let us repent as we approach the Great Lent... Let us forgive those who have done wrong to us and ask for forgiveness from those we have done wrong... let us have the faith of Peter, a rock-solid faith that God can build His Church on."

This joyful day was concluded with the parish enjoying a reception together with the visiting Clergy and Believers.
