Here you can see the Inaugural Divine Liturgy of the Community of St Hilda, Halifax. There were 61 people in attendance on the Afterfeast of the Dormition of the Theotokos. 15 Orthodox received Holy Communion. On 6th September, 34 believers will be received by either baptism or chrismation by our Metropolitan H. E. Silouan assisted by other clergy. On the following day, 7th September there will be a Hierarchical Divine Liturgy at which Sayedna Silouan will ordain Doug Clark to the holy diaconate, taking the name Caedmon. St Caedmon was the spiritual son of St Hilda of Whitby, a great hymnographer and poet of the Orthodox Church of these Isles. Here is the photoalbum of todays great event: https://shorturl.at/XmBJ0. We are grateful to Msgr. Fr Michael McQuinn and his bishop, the Catholic Bishop of Leeds, the Rt Revd. Marcus Stock for their generous and warm hospitality in sharing their magnificent and beautiful St Malachy's church with us.
