On Saturday, 10 May 2025, our Archbishop, His Eminence Metropolitan Silouan of
the British Isles and Ireland, concelebrated the Divine Liturgy at St George's Romanian Orthodox Cathedral in London. The service marked the solemn occasion of the enthronement of His Eminence Atanasie as Archbishop of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Sayedna Silouan concelebrated at the kind invitation of His Eminence Iosif, Romanian Orthodox Metropolitan of Western and Southern Europe, and His Eminence Atanasie.
The beautifully renovated Cathedral of St George was filled with a multitude of clergy
and faithful. Presiding at the Divine Liturgy was His Eminence Iosif. Concelebrating with
him was a remarkable gathering of hierarchs from various dioceses of the Romanian
Orthodox Church, alongside guest hierarchs from other Orthodox jurisdictions present in Great Britain and Ireland, reflecting the unity and catholicity of the Orthodox Church. In total, fifteen hierarchs concelebrated.

Distinguished guests included a representative of His Majesty the King, the Lord
Mayor of Enfield, the Ambassador of Romania to the United Kingdom, and other civic and diplomatic officials.
Following the Divine Liturgy, the solemn Service of Enthronement was conducted by
Metropolitan Iosif. His Eminence Nifon, Patriarchal Exarch and Archbishop of Târgoviște,
read a message from His Beatitude Daniel, Patriarch of Romania, conveying his blessing and joy on this occasion.
The concelebration of hierarchs from different Orthodox jurisdictions, including our
own Metropolitan Silouan, was a beautiful expression of the Mystical unity of the Orthodox Church, made visible in the shared celebration of the Holy Eucharist. Clergy and faithful from the Romanian Orthodox Archdiocese and Metropolis were joined by representatives of other local Orthodox Churches in Britain, gathered together around one Holy Table. Many priests, deacons, and bishops served in unity, and hundreds of faithful from diverse backgrounds received Holy Communion. The participation of clergy and hierarchs from different jurisdictions showed the fraternal bonds of love, respect and cooperation that exist among the Orthodox Churches. It also reflected the unity we are called to live, especially in the diverse and shared context of Orthodox life in Great Britain and Ireland.
